This morning, we got up at 7:30, put on our running gear and drove out to San Felasco hammock for a chilly morning run. We haven’t been out there for….???several months, if not a year. We saw an older man with long gray hair and a sweat band around his head, short running shorts, and a happy golden retriever just coming back from their run in the woods. It was 45 degrees this morning. We saw lots of water bottles at the entrance, signaling that a cross country team was out there somewhere. We ran about 4 miles…longer than we’ve gone in a while. I was concerned about Zach’s back, since just a week ago he couldn’t walk. We drove home, got a little cleaned up, and drove out to the farmer’s market. Didn’t buy anything…just wanted to see where it was for next time. Then we drove over to the donut connection and got 2 donuts each. We are now home and are going to have coffee and donuts. All this was Zach’s idea for our date today, since we’ve re-instated our date day. We each take turns planning something purposeful to do together. The cheaper the better. Later today, I am going to boil some peanuts, crochet, watch the UF game, and finally go get my massage using the gift certificate Zach got me for my b-day back in June. It’s mornings like these that really make me love life.
